What is AHU?

‘AHU’ is short for ‘air handling unit.’ It is a system that warms-up, cools, filters, and/or humidifies as well as circulates air in your home or building.

An AHU is typically made up of the following components:

  • Casing for its parts.
  • A fan.
  • Heating and cooling coils.
  • Filters.
  • Panel.
  • Humidifiers.
  • Mixing Box.

It’s an essential piece of every HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system and is available in two forms: draw-through and blow through.
